LawBreakers PC Specs Guide

Share

Greetings –

As we charge head-first into LawBreakers’ launch, we wanted to share some tech and PC-specific information with all of you relating to game performance and customization. We tested a variety of options and specifications in the hope that presenting this information to the PC community will help create the best LawBreakers experience possible on a variety of configurations. We know that each and every PC is different, so we want to do our best to present a slew of options (both within minimum, recommended requirements AND our highest BOSS config) to best play LawBreakers on whatever machine you have.

We’ll first start with our two main system requirements:

LawBreakers MINIMUM system requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU QX6850/AMD A8-3870k (Quad Core CPU’s)
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 660, AMD Radeon 7870
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 35 GB available space

LawBreakers RECOMMENDED system requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 – 4790
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 970, AMD Radeon R9 290
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 35 GB available space

As we start looking at different config settings along with our min/max and average fps (with cool charts!) we want to share a few thoughts before we get started:

  1. The FPS chart is measured over time as a sequence runs through a map with 10 characters loaded in. It’s definitely worth noting that it’s not a benchmark of just an empty level. All 10 characters are fully loaded, running around, and using abilities. Because of the dynamic nature of that, not all charts will show the same data trends.
  2.  Another big part of this, is the capture method used here captures in ms. To make the graph not show thousands upon thousands of datapoints, we pulled out every whole number and its corresponding frame.
  3. If you want to limit the upward spikes to have a consistent frame, there are options in-game to cap the max frame rate to get a smooth 100, for example, in addition to vsync options.
  4. For the purposes of using gifs to illustrate the differences, we’re going by the settings used in-game: Low, Medium, High and Ultra to help showcase.

Let’s get started. We’ll ramp it upwards as we go through each spec along with the settings, graph and results below.

But wait – there’s our Boss Spec Configuration!

So, in addition to the high spec configuration, we wanted to challenge ourselves to get a little crazy.  So, here in the office we put together a BOSS SPEC machine and cranked everything up to 11. This is just us having a little fun and seeing what LawBreakers is capable of. Check out the system we outfitted below plus the spec!

Conclusion

Frames per second and performance optimizations was (and is) incredibly important to the dev team here at Boss Key Productions when creating LawBreakers. It’s our mission to do our best to present a game that plays well at a variety of configurations, and for those PC players who invest heavily in their rigs, to have an experience unlike many others with LawBreakers’ fast, vertical gameplay. If you have questions, please let us know on the forums or in our Discord. Special thanks to Aaron Jones and Matt Levi from the QA Team, plus many others, who helped gather all this data. From everyone at the studio, we hope you enjoy playing LawBreakers!
